About DANIEL
It's not an exaggeration to say Daniel Sliwa grew up with a camera beside him and computer before him. He was (graciously) gifted a video camera, by his parents, as early as elementary school while learning computer work (PC and MACs) while in middle school and on. Such experience led him to assist with design and copywriting, for his Mother and other reps at Coldwell Banker while in high school, to then working with media and marketing positions at both his High School and University whilst attending them.
It was this "run-and-gun" mentality that fueled a passion for media arts, and a drive to simply get down and work- no matter the project or task at hand, it's about committing 100% and problem-solving any hiccups that arise. In his Freshman year, Daniel would go on to become a founding member and board member for the school film group, MCM, which recently became the largest RSO (registered student organization) at SIUC, with now 300 active members today (as of 2023). He successfully graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, numerous awards, and recognition from the City of Carbondale (his college home town) for his work in race relations, reform, and African American representation in chosen media projects. His awards also included: The Diversity Filmmaker's Award, The Loren Cocking Animation Award for the thesis film "My Art is Not Dead", and noted for major involvement in 9 thesis projects within 4 years at SIUC.
Daniel currently resides in Sherman Oaks, CA and splits his time between SoCal and NorCal projects, typically locking fashion, event, and performance work around SoCal, while involved in various corporate and creative client contracts across California, and even into other cities across the nation. Always one for an adventure: Daniel is currently open for any commissions, but more importantly: helping You tell and create a story for all others to get lost in!
Notable Clients: LA Weekly, Universal Studios, Sony Pictures, California State Social Impact Justice, Legacy Entertainment, Hollywood and Culver City Commerce Chamber(s), Fotospark Photo Booth, The Pan Am Experience, Cherry Poppins, and more. Various work in these sectors, and more, is available on Facebook, Instagram, and this Photography Page on here.
